Trg1969 comes through again with this tool caddy, a good floor brush, and the upholstery tool. This caddy seems to be made of fibreglass, and has the metal clips and door hanger attatched. It was a nice investment, and sets off the cleaner very well. Now if I could get a crevice tool and a dusting brush, maybe even a XXX hose, I'll be cooking. Thanks Toby!

Alan, were you looking for

an original XXX bag? There is a replacement brand new bag on EBay right now. I have purchased from that seller and have been happy with them. It's bright orange in the picture, and I think it's listed under EBay stores. (buy it now)...

Also, could you post a pic of that Electrolux Companion by itself without the tools? I have never seen one for the XXX or the LX that was not hammertone painted steel. Not saying they don't exist....just ain't never seen one. I know I don't have a crevice tool (oddly enough) but I might have a dusting brush somewhere... I can't remember if the rubber bumper is intact or not. I'll take a look.

I definitely

have a filter for your machine. You still got your overnight packed and out by the mailbox?

I meant....

you should drive up to Atlanta, spending, I don't know-$140.00 in gas for something I could send to you for a $1.50! It's an adventure man!!!

Hey if you want filters i have some! one of them is even still in the wrapper sealed with wax! just tell me.

The fiberglass Companion is a bit of a mystery to me. My assumption is that it's a later one, perhaps the last. I say that because it has a gray plastic hanging strap made of the same material as the LX Companion. The early XXX Companions had a heavy chain instead. But the mystery is why Electrolux would have then gone back to a metal Companion when the LX came out. I do have one of the fiberglass ones, got it on eBay. So I really don't know a whole lot about it.

Just a thought - they may have gone back to the metal companion with the LX because of its shape. To make it with the ridge to go over the handle trim in fiberglass would probably have created a weaker spot that would have made it easier to break.
