model 33 on ebay

now theres a purple convertible model 33 on ebay all original except a black cord i read over the description and he said the motors very loud and sounds like its gonna blow up, now from my experience with older convertibles with there first serious of motors is there brushrolls can make them sound like that and the lower bearings, if anybody could possibly give me some advice to which that vacuum is worth me investing in i meen i realyy want a model 33 for my collection but idk what does everybody think

Its just the bearings. Easy fix. I just restored the bearings in my model 31 (quite similar machine) Sounds like new.


These convertibles when properly serviced on the bearings, are really quiet machines! One of my most quiet uprights I have ever had is a convertible model 344 commercial.


You can do it for about $5 in supplies or a vac shop can do it for $25-30 or so.
 
Hey, It might be worth it if the price isn't all that high.


My 31 is all original except for the bag.


The only real big difference between the 31 and 33 besides colors, is the switch configuration. The 31 as you can see, has its power switch on the handle bail, rather than near the handle grip. The 31s cord is held on the outside of the handle.


Also I believe the hoods were made of different materials. The 31s hood was the early plastic like on the 65 convertible, and tended to warp/melt from the heat of the motor. The 33s I have seen, seem to never have this problem.
