Hey guys . I was wondering if anyone owns one what do they think about them . Pros and cons. How well do they filter? How do they compare to othe highend brands.

Josh, I have one....

I have a Miracle Mate Mark 1, & it's from 1992, the year they were formed, & a Canadian model with the Sebo ETC powerhead. I don't really like it near as much as my TriStar CXL....the cord on the cord retractor is much shorter, & the canister is a bit too heavy for my liking. The TriStar is much easier to handle than the Miracle Mate. I also find the Miracle Mate bags clog with fine dust easier than the TriStar bags do....so I wound up saving the cardboard top from a bag & using TriStar bags instead.

The only things I would give the Miracle Mate credit for is I think the Technostat filter, combined with the HEPA Dome filter that Miracle Mate sells as a maintenance item in the USA, would filter better than the TriStar's foam filter dome & Filter Fresh assembly would. Even compared to the foam filter dome & the HEPA exhaust filter TriStar markets for the MG Series TriStars, I think Miracle Mate's filtration would be better. Having said that, the Patriot/Air-Storm copies are even better with that huge Medik-Aire HEPA filter they sell....NO WAY anyone could beat that, even Miele! I also feel the Sebo ETC powerhead is better than both the CXL & Electrolux-style powerheads that TriStar has offered both past & present. BUT it is also a generic powerhead used by other vacuums as well....

Bottom line....it is a nice vac, but their competitors are better. At least that's my opinion. If you want a REALLY GOOD TriStar copycat, I would look at the Patriot first.

A well made machine

I had a miracle mate and sold it. very good air flow but heavy I had to make a card board adaptor to make tristar bags work right. In my opinion the tristar cx or dxl has a better feel.

Rob:

The present Miracle Mate is pretty much the same. All they have done to the vacuum is add 2 smaller Technostat filters on the side, & have also put the bag on an angle....but even then, it's the same bag. I have also seen that the American models have a different powerhead now, they no longer use the Lindhaus powerhead....they now use one called the EdgeLift. They also have a Plastiflex gas-pump style hose handle with on/off switch to accompany the new powerhead.

Otherwise, same old Miracle Mate with cosmetic updates, no real substantial changes.
