Was thinking of purchasing the Miele SEB 217-3 Power nozzle.

This nozzle isn't going to edge clean very well is it?

the 217

is a mediocre power brush anyway. Not for deep pile carpeting. When it was designed, not many if any had active brush edge cleaning. Suction only, and my Eureka ones did a good job when I had wall to wall carpeting. The 'Express' style power heads had active brush edge cleaning on the right hand side.
Once a month or so, if you have wall to wall, you need to uses a crevice tool along the base board trim.
Now for delicate Persian or other area rugs, the 217 is fine.

Thanks Mike. I wish manufacturers would put edge cleaning on both sides of the nozzle so you don't need to use a crevice tool. It shouldn't be that difficult.

I have one of those, and yes, edge cleaning isn't fantastic, and the brushroll is a bit soft I find, but it's not too horrific. In the UK it's rare to get an electric power head at all, one bonus of it is one can clean up late at night with everyone in bed, and with the machine set quite low it still spins at full power, giving an acceptable, if not too deep clean!

My main beef with it is the cord! To use the tools you need to de-wire the whole thing to take the hose off the tubes. I cut my cord and fitted a plug and socket so at least it was quick, you just had the end of the cord flapping about. In my small house it's a novelty more than useful, it's in the loft now!

You can flip the end caps around though to raise or lower the brushroll by a few mm. Makes a bit of a difference, but not much.

I was thinking of getting inside my C3 and running a cable out from the cord reel and buying a 217 but maybe I'll leave it now 🤔
How about the 236 PN does that edge clean well? Seems to be quite a gap between the brushroll and edge of the nozzle?

Ah well I think I will leave it then. I'm getting a Sebo E3 Premium tomorrow so hopefully that will do a good job.

There isn't much choice of power nozzles in Europe that I can see. In the US there are quite a few to choose from because of the popularity of central vacs
