Miele S7 help

Ok, what could be the possible causes of a Miele S7 overheating? Is it anything serious? These machines look like a pain to work on. Thanks

They are a pain to work on Tayyab and the parts are very expensive.

Over heating could be a blockage somewhere.

But if you're thinking of getting a bagged upright get a Sebo

I sold my Miele S7. Good performance and filtration but a bit heavy and bulky for my liking.

Most likely a blockage. Check the cap on the back of the machine towards the bottom, should be one or two turn knob things which you turn with like a 5p coin, think there is a u-bend there, other than that, the obvious like hoses, brush rolls etc.

I had the remove the brushroll on my S7 allervac as a piece of string got wedged between the brushroll housing, and I could not put it back together. Ended up donating it to my mates garage where it is just used for the hose. There are a million and one pieces in those heads alone, I struggled with the covers that went over the rear wheels, but there is also the spring loaded brushroll which is a night mare, and the parts aren't very substantial.

Is it worth bordering or is the DC41 better in your opinion?

I don't like the S7, much prefer my Felix in more or less everyway. One thing I will say is the quality of Miele bags are very good, although the self closing flap never works as dirt accumulates around the neck of the bag rendering that flap useless, and the newer type sebo bags are just as good quality.

I would say the DC41 MK2 grooms the piles and has stronger suction than the S7 despite what people are going to tell you. As well as that, Sebo and Dyson give you 5 year guarantees, and the dyson one especially is excellent, they wont try and wiggle out of anything, they genuinely want you to be happy with the product. As you may know, their policy is if they cant repair the vacuum with the tools in their van, they give you a new machine. I cant vouch for Mieles warranty however, but I doubt they are as good as that.

Today I got a DC40 for £15, needs a lot of work doing to it
