Recently I acquired a Miele Red Star canister vac their model S301i. Their vac model numbers resemble BMW designations, don't they? Anyway, this vac has a couple of broken/missing parts. In looking around on the internet in the usual places, I'm thinking, "Uh-oh." There seems to be an absence of the usual sources which list parts, numbers, prices and so on.

Are Miele repair parts some kind of closely-held, proprietary thing where only special people can get them, no competitive pricing, etc.

Some time ago, I needed a part for an upright Miele that my wife uses and a local vac shop guy said he couldn't get it. I was able to Mickey-Mouse that repair, but the deal with the vac shop guy not being able to get a part made me wonder.

Any insight into this situation would be appreciated.

Miele Parts...

are only available through authorized dealers. Miele does not provide genuine parts to industry wholesalers, hence their lack of availability.

If you call a local Miele dealer, I am sure they will be able to order any pieces you require for your S300 series machine.
