Just discovered this place whilst searching for bits for the DC07 rebuild, what a place! Bought the belt lifter tool, security torx driver and belts for a great price! Found filters on ebay cheaper, so didn't get those from there.

Also bought the DC07 unofficial service manual since I always run into a confusing issue when refurbing dysons!

Anyone from there on here?

But I have the "pleasure" of going into the shop in the rough Gorton area it is located...quite handy though because it is on the way to town, I think there is even a bus stop outside it! I have drove past it before. :P :)

lucky! i want to do wotk experience there but normally we go to Rochdale cus of relatives there :)

So I was sniffing around on Google and found this topic!

A few familiar faces here. Hello to all.

As Alex notes, the area we are located in isn't the most salubrious, but low overheads mean lower prices.

For anyone that doesn't know us, we are a Dyson specialist shop based in Manchester and we sell online worldwide.

Thanks for the welcome Parwaz and Beko. A few people linked over here from our Dyson forums so I thought I'd best take a look around.

Off to find some Dyson topics now.....

now why in the hell would a vacuum repair shop publish "how to repair" instructions online? They'd lose business.

Manchester Vacs, just a polite heads up. As much as I'm pleased to see you on here, please be aware that this is a collectors forum. I'm not saying you will, but we've had people sign up on here before who are just trying to sell their products, but it never goes down well.

Very much looking forward to hearing what knowledge you have to share :).

all the best,
Chris

do have a Dyson DC07 repair guide which covers everything

They're hardly likely to give away their secrets, are they Michael? ;). If they start telling everyone how to repair their Dysons or where to get instructions on how to repair their Dysons, it's not going to be great for business.

God, could you imagine the business model? "We're going to repair vacuums and tell everyone how we do it so anybody can repair them...". Yeh, that's profitable!

Chris, there are something like twenty million Dysons in this country alone. More in the US and Oz, etc. We can't fix em all.

We are primarily a parts supplier; repairs are quite secondary and mostly cover our local area (apart from ones sent to us).

So it is beneficial to share "how to" guides, which we do both on our site and occasionally by proxy on Dyson Medic.

I'll leave you an example of one of the guides we do for free below, I'll leave you to ruminate on the business model and our profitability.
