Just on the subject of cleaning out - does anyone need any repair parts for machines - especialy Canadian Electroluxes. have a whole pile I'll have to move and would rather trade :) - Switches, Handles etc

LOL - The Roll Easy even came from Florida too (as well as the VIIC3 and the AVC 815) - They were courtesy of a very good friend - George Bocknewch

I don't think I have ever seen

a Swivel-top with the chrome top and (Is that maroon?) bottom. Really attractive! And until this thread, I did not know what other shape canister cleaner I need to "represent" all the various shapes. One of those tear drops would do it! I'll have to be on the look out for one. What is that disc-like silver thingy in front of the Roll-Easy? Great pics and GREAT vacs BTW!!!

Rick

Hey Rick - lol - I used a roll of duct tape to hold the roll easy in position.

If you mean the VC2B the top and bottom are maroon and the rest cream. There was also a VC2A which I havnt found that was peach and grey.

My favorite of the teardrop shaped Eurekas is the Chrome and Black Viking 1005

Re: the Ge Parts - afraid I dont have any other roll easy parts or wands - to my knowledge the roll easy's were never sold in Canada sorry about that - the bulk of my spares is for the Canadian Electroluxes

Sorry to hear the move may be imminent, Doug.

Thrilled, tho, that you are taking the opportunity to organize and share group shots.

You showed me such a great time when I visited in mid December and I may even have laid eyes on most of these treasures you've pictured. It's my hope I'll make a return trip nov/dec, too.

Well, you know I'm in need of a red cordwinder & housing for my haloed 86...and of course a red 88 with the wraparound bumper, in any condition or state of dissassembly, is the only 80 Series model missing from Davy's Luxe Towers. :-) Turquoise rear wheels for a G?

Wish I could be there to help help heave the haulage to their new home...

Doug,

Sorry to hear about the possible loss of your storage space and iminent move. Thank you for sharing the group photos with us. Hope everything works out OK for you.
Jeff

Wow! I think my heart stopped when I saw the connies. What a great collection you have. I wish we had more colors here in the states. Your tilted ones are my faves.
Nicholas

Doug, if you have a white Elux power cord spare I could use one for my AP280..one of the metal prongs broke off mine and I hate to splice a generic ugly plug on the end of it..
Lemme know...

Yeah Doug, very sorry you're facing this problem. "been there, done that." It's very frustrating isn't it. Good luck with the relocation of your storage items.

Thanks..
btw are you at all thinking about going to N.Canton for the convention? Drive or fly you can always vacation here at our place as part of the trip, it's only about 3.5 hrs drive from our house

Hey Doug! Hope your move goes well. I'm in need of a standard hose and wire, or electric hose for my Electrolux 89. Also, I need the power nozzle for this machine. I have the original telescoping wand that's electric, but no power nozzle. Also, let me know if you ever think about selling the GE Swivel-Top with the power nozzle. Hope you can help me with the Lux. Later, Trg

Guess I should explain whats going on here too. I own a small apartment building in downtown Moose Jaw that was built in 1912. 8 apartments upstairs, 2 stores on the main floor and the basement (2000 square feet)is my storage. The city, in their infinite wisdom, wants to put a new sports multiplex there, where there is very little parking available, rather than on city property that has adequate parking and is only a 5 min drive away. Most of the people in the city are against it but its looking more and more like council planns to ram it through no matter what anyone else wants. If it goes through they will take the properties for "fair market value" In other words they wont give us anywhere near enough to replace them with. I'm working on getting stuff sorted out and as much as possible put in my garage as, if and when it goes through, we may not be given much time to do this and I dont want to loose stuff just because there was no place to put it. Maybe thats a bit alarmist but I really dont want to be caught at the last minute. The other problem being, the building is also my income, so I dont know what I'll do about that.

In a nut shell thats where I stand - screwed by the city again - lol (and they didnt even buy me supper first)

Historic apartment building?

I don't know how historic preservation works in Canadian provinces and localities, but you may be able to help your situation by getting your 1912 apartment building designated a historic building. In the US, there are any number of rules and regulations that can be used to qualify a building as historic, one of which makes most buildings over 50 years old eligible.

Historic listing might be worth a shot,
Dave

LOL - Problem is historical designation is done through city council here and they wouldnt put it on a property that they are looking to demolish. Thanks for the idea though (I was on that committee for 5 years) Historical Designation also severly limits what you can do with the building.

Well that sucks. It's not like they have a glut of original old buildings there to go knocking any down and putting up some modern monstrosity.
