Hi!

I have a Míele S 238 i vintage canister vacuum with accessories.

One owner, hasn’t been used in years, since the hose deteriorated, and it doesn’t suck anymore.

All other functions work, even the cord retract.

Video is linked below.

Lots of parts to use, or maybe you have a hose for it!

No cost, just picked and enjoy.

Pickup ONLY. In NW NJ, X15 off I78.

Remove it by end of April, or I will have to dispose of it.

Thanks for looking!

Correction:

I should have said that the main motor works very well, as does the motor in the power head. The thumb control on the handle works to start the motor(s), and adjust their speed.

The only thing preventing it from working like a vacuum should is the hose, which has more holes than Swiss Cheese!

I do have the instruction leaflets for the vac & power head.

I'll keep it available through June.

That is a very complete early US market Miele electronic with powerhead and all the extras - don't throw it out. It's an amazing find.

Are the original electric hoses even available for this?

Will a generic hose have to be used with the original ends from what's left of that pile of..... vacuum hose.....stuff.

The hose will be the trickiest part.

I don’t remember how many wires run through it to control the the canister speed and provide power to rug nozzle. I’m sure it’s more than the 2 wires that run through a typical electrified hose.
