I've heard that the newer lux uprights had a stronger motor in them. While I could hear a clear difference compared to older models such as the 3500sr in videos. I thought it would be a good idea to get my hands on one to see for myself how much stronger they are.
I'm impressed. It actually is close in power to my Legacy upright which was given a Numatic motor (5.7"). With the guardian returning to it's classic "slim" profile and having what is most likely a 4.3" motor it's specs are impressive while also using less electricity than my Legacy model which uses a strangely high amount of electricity compared to Numatic vacuums.
For comparison I re-measured my Legacy I also found it odd that the numatic motor consumed so much electricity in that machine.
It also appears that the guardian may be better sealed it has a gasket below the bag which is something I've not seen on one of these before. I'd imagine the head is better sealed as well considering the guardian had more sealed suction at the nozzle despite the legacy having more hose suction.
