Hello,

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone would be willing/able to help me out.

I just bought a hoover model 719 on eBay (waiting for it to arrive). It has the rear style conversion system and appears to be a single speed model (no switch on underside). I came across a posting for a Hoover ski-slope style hose kit (model 1011) with one extension wand and a dusting brush.

I've seen some parts diagrams for hoses and it lists different versions of the conversion fitting/piece. I would like to know if this hose kit is the appropriate model for my new (old) Hoover.

719

is a two speed machine. the speed switch lever is on the right side of the machine if youre looking at the bottom of the machine brushroll down. if the flipper switch inside the converter slot is missing, someone intentionally removed it, or it broke off. the 1011 attachment set would be correct for this model.

disclaimer though, you cant do heavy duty cleaning with high speed mode on a convertible. it has the same suction and airflow as a handivac. its not meant for anything more than dusting lampshades. if you want bare floor cleaning, i suggest getting a constellation or slimline or portable from the same era to compliment it.

Thank you for the information bnsd60m9200. I will have to check the conversion area when the vacuum arrives to verify if the switch is there or broken/missing.

I'm not looking for strong hose suction (got a Miele for that). I'm just looking for a somewhat complete 719 once I do some restoration to it. I love the colours and appreciate the engineering that went into them.
