Picked up a nice little vintage Hoover floor scrubber. Model 5450 (says on metal plate) Has a rectangle top and retro pink. works like a champ. I was told by a appliance parts warehouse it was a model B... want to find floor scrubber brushes and polishing pads. I have been looking online and not having any luck'

Also does anyone know what year(s) they were made ? Thank you for any help.

Congratulations on your Hoover purchase. I wonder about it being a Model B others' models are typically 4-digit #s. In the last 30-35 years the model ids have letter prefixes (U for uprights; FA for floor machines, etc.)

Here is a partial list of model id codes and names for the various floor scrubbers/polishers/shampooers:

1940s: Models 0210s/Polisher (& Rug Cleaner)

1959-66: Model 3500s/Floor Washer (& Rug Cleaner w/Pick Up)

1962- ? : Models 5000s, 5100s/Polisher (& Rug Cleaner--"Mickey Mouse-style")

1980s: Model F4200s/Shampoo-Polisher

1980s: Model F4300s/FloorMAX Supreme

1967-1987: Model 3600s & F5000s/Floor-A-Matic (Scrubber & Shampooer w/Pick-up)

I happened to find an ad that looks like yours (claimed to be from 1957 although I didn't see it anywhere on the ad itself)--Hoover vacuum cleaners out during that era also colored in "Heather Rose Pink" were: Model 85/Constellation (1956-57) and Model 65/Convertible (1957-59):

By the way, if the machine doesn't have a name plate (a metal label showing the model, watts, other specifications, & company info.) then the model may just be stamped on the bottom--in which case a magnifying glass may be helpful.

It has a metal plate attached model 5450. It's not the Mickey mouse style.the ad posted is very close. Will call the store mentioned. No luck on eBay.it's frustrating

Called sweeper central. I sent him pictures. I was told it's a rare machine but no help on brushes /pads. Anyone else havr ideas if any can be found or a part number ?

Here are some sites based on a "Hoover 5450" online search:

Best wishes--I hope you are able to buy the items you need and be able to put your Model 5450 to good use once again. Consider making a Youtube video of its actual use if you do.

P. S. Sorry my list isn't entirely accurate. It's a work in progress.
