I know it’s a long shot, but hey, stranger things have happened.....would anyone have an Electrolux Hospital G that they would be willing to part with? I’ve really slowed down on my intake of vacuums, but I would like a Hospital G to add to the collection. Thanks!

Good point

But like I said, it’s worth a shot. I did something similar a few years ago looking for an even more rare Electrolux CE and Tom Gasko decided to part with his, so I can say stranger things have happened! In the meantime, I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed in hopes that someone decides they want the money worse than the vacuum!!

I have 4 or 5 G's....maybe more...not sure offhand because some vacs are in storage.

There was a guy about an hr away from me that wound up with all the vacs & parts from an old Electrolux dealer who passed away....for free. Keith, a member here, flew in from CA just to buy the Hospital G he had. I was there a few days after picking through all the old dealer stuff.

Although considered by many to be the 'Holy Grail' of Electrolux vacs.....given how fragile/rare the wheels are and how easy G's tip over on carpets....I just don't see the hype of the Hospital G in actual use. I think it's just because there are so few of them that survived after hospital use. Hospitals are not known for keeping old things like that around. No doubt, present Hospital G's aren't actually used that much because of their rarity and hyped value.

The G itself is a wonderful vac for its build quality and 'silence' while running.....but those darn wheels and those plastic wands......

My very first Electrolux(my family had Hoovers & Rexairs) was a turquoise G that my mother-in-law gave me in the 80's and I still have it!

Actually, about the guy near me who had all the old Electrolux dealer's stuff.....he did pay for some of the stuff he had, like the Hospital G Keith bought from him.

If I remember the provenance story correctly, the guy got all his Electrolux stuff from the old dealer's surviving son. And there were two Hospital G's....the son kept the other one.

The guy used to post here occasionally about vacs he was about to list on eBay....nice guy to meet in person. Don't know what became of all that stuff. I posted here about becoming an agent and going back to purchase all his Electrolux stuff.....no takers.

Hospital G the "Holy Grail" of Electroluxes

Really? I would've thought the model V since it was the first. I would give my right eye for one with or without detachable runners. I wouldn't mind a Hospital G, but not more than a model V.

The Model V is very sought after too....

However, I have one of those thanks to Charles Richard Lester. It’s such a fantastic item to collect. I really don’t plan to use the Hospital G, would just like to have one in the collection. There are some really rare machines out there that I have been lucky enough to own (Bison, GE Roll Easy, Electrolux Commemorative, NIB 1205, etc.) and I would just like to add a Hospital G to the mix!
