Limited Edition square body Kenmore canister from 1985

1983 was the last year Sears sold the square bodied canisters it had offered for ten years.  


 


After that, the canisters were changed, with rounded corners and a top mount hose, and apparently called Whispertone..... whatever.


 


For a short time in 1985, Sears re-offered a square-bodied canister that was basically a middle upper model, but in the mid 1980s gray colors..... for better or worse.


 


A woman in New Jersey (Joy-see) is selling one on CL.  I'd get it but, it's just not going to fit in my collection.  She accepts Paypal and if you can't pick up, is willing to deliver this to the UPS store near her.  You'd have to make arrangements with the store to pay for packaging and shipping.

Rare Sears

I haven't seen more than 2 of these ever.There was also a non cordwinder version with a cord wrap on top.May have had a longer/thicker 'commercial' cord that wouldn't fit on cord reel.
