Saturday afternoon my friend Jim Barnhart came over with a surprise in the trunk of his Buick from our friend Brent at the vac shop in Ashland. It was a Premier model PR21 made by GE. I'm not sure, but I think this machine is from the late 40's or early 50's. It has a 2speed motor and original bag in almost perfect condition other than being slightly faded. The only things wrong with it were a stretched belt, blown bulb, clip missing from the front cover, and the cord had been cut off. Also, it appears whatever latch it had to hold the handle in the upright storage psition was missing and the handle yoke had been brased at some point.
I wired up a cord temporarily to check it out and I was not disappointed--it ran beautifully in both high and low speeds, and took its time winding down when I shut it off, indicating that the bearings are in good shape.
So thank you Brent, for this fine addition to my collection, and thank you Jim, for bringing it over and visiting. Had fun working on it, didn't we! Will post pictures soon.

It was a great day

Saturday finding out that the Premier worked. The poor thing had been in my trunk for a week and had many miles on it before it was delivered. The bag is beautiful even tho it is a bit faded. I hope the pics I took are close enough to show its beauty. I am not going to say anything to Brent about it until you get it display ready and then we can take both it and the Rotarex over and show him. I'm glad we live so close to do things like this. I was amazed at how it sounded after it was "hot wired". Now I'm anxious to see the final show piece.
