I have used bothI LOVE the early Royals and Kirbys, but don't really like any of the newer ones, The Kirbys after 1969 are too big and heavy, and the Royals after the 801 just don't feel the same.I personally don't want or need a upright that tears all the nap out of my carpet and sounds like a jet...LOL
