The G4 that I recently got makes a clicking sound when you push it in neutral. Could anyone tell me why its doing that and if it is an easy fix?

Thanks
Chase

I think a *little bit* of click is OK, that is the sound of the plastic gear engaging or disengaging. But if it is really loud it may be the cam bracket needs to be replaced (a common issue apparently).

Check out this link, step 13 specifically. (I tore down my G5 to fix the N/D switch, it was not too hard just time consuming and make sure you keep track of your screws. It's a great opportunity to dust/vacuum the insides of the machine, or blast off with compressed air)

Yes I have the exact same problem with my Kirby g5 it clicks when it is in neutral I don't think it is a big deal it docent seem to affect the machine at all so ya it isn't a really big deal Zach.

Hello, I had the same problem with my G4 and it turned out that a screw had come out at the back of the drive box (just above where you select neutral or drive) added a new screw and this solved the problem.

I had never thought of that when I get back from holidays I will have to look at my g5 and see if it is missing. Zach

Hello Zach, it's certainly worth looking at, with mine the foot drive switches were slightly bending downwards at the back with having no screw in and I don't think it was selecting neutral properly more like in between neutral and drive, I presume this was why it was clicking when I pushed it in free wheel.
I do hope this is your problem because then it's a simple fix also I would just make sure the screws underneath are tight.
Regards Craig
