Hi all,
I have a heritage II shakeout bag and currently have a HEPA bag inside of it. This means to change the HEPA bag the outer bag needs to be removed. I have thought about modifying the top of the bag to make it open but would it would ruin the originality of it. I have thought of making a change to the emptor adaptor but have not though of anything yet. Any thoughts? Would modifying this be a bad idea?
Thanks!!!

Option

Shakeout bags have a sani pocket. If you cut off the sani pocket or just the end. This would allow access to the hepa bag.
You could put a zipper on the back like most h2 have. This would modify it but heritage 2 had shakeout and zipped bags this would be both.

Modifying a Shake out Heritage bag is quite simply a stupid idea, in my opinion. In fact, if you want an outer bag for a heritage, send me an email and I'll give you one for shipping cost. I have probably six washed and laying around. No reason to modify a much harder to find bag.

@myvacsrock

I have other bags. I use the shake out bag for the looks but want the hepa performance. I may try to figure out a way to slide it through the bottom of the emptor. Maybe 3d print a new adapter. We will see!

I acquired a Heritage with a dump bag about five years ago to replace one a former girlfriend had borrowed from me and then left behind when she moved out of her apartment. Don't get me started about that.

The first thing I did was ditch the dump bag. I hate those things. I had a complete Heritage II filter bag assembly on hand, so I initially put that on to make it functionally complete, but the gray bag with the gray plastics was just too, well, gray. A kind member here supplied me with a brand new, proper Orange 1HD bag, which I paired with the Heritage II mini emptor and fill tube.

I later acquired a complete Heritage '84 that had a filthy outer bag, so I took it off the emptor and fill tube to wash it. I never could get the bag back on its original emptor, so I finally gave up and used another Heritage II emptor and fill tube I had on hand. I keep thinking I'll go back and try to re-install the original setup, but I haven't found sufficient motivation to do so as of yet.

But back to the original question. With so many zippered outer bags available, why go to all the extra trouble of modifying a dump bag? The Heritage II mini emptor and fill tube are super easy to install, just slip it through from inside the bag, and it will allow you to use Kirby HEPA bags, if you so desire. I did the same thing to get rid of the dump bag on my Classic III. It now sports a Legend II bag with the Classic III topper.

Someithing

Hmc(chris) put a panty hose in the emtor. You could put a panty hose and pull the bag out with the pantyhose.
Myvacrocks I'd be interested in a bag or two I have a couple heritages with shakeout bags.
