Well believe or not this was given to me today as an even trade for fixing up a Dyson DC07 which needs a few parts. This was owned by an elderly man who has just passed, but the daughter apparently wanted to keep the DC07 since it was bagless.

No problem, I'll take that right off your hands! I did an initial inspection today at lunch, it's got no deep scratches in the aluminum which I'll be able to buff out no problem! I'll just to order a few replacement pieces to offically call this gently used!

My lucky Monday! The bag smells like vomit though, so to the Leeling spa this goes!

Date

Yep has the metal pan. I'll have to sort out the date of manufacture when I get home, but I'm estimating late 2006 or 2007 when these first started to come out.

Could a Kirby expert tell me with what serial numbers Kirby started incorporating a plastic base pan? I'm pretty sure mine is metal, but now I'm curious. Thanks.

That poor old man must have been forced into buying it. Like all of the old people living alone.

Post Restore

This was pretty easy, it didn't really need anything other than a lot of detailing and some Mothers aluminum polish. I removed the cloth bag and disinfected it, the emtor and fill tube with Mr Clean, then washed the bag inside out in Woolite in the washer. The fan isn't even knicked in this, and the commutator doesn't even appear to be fully worn in!

It must have it's original belt, which came off the pulley because there was so much hair built up. "It doesn't pick up very well."

3 hours and a sore right arm later...
