Hey guys.. I just bought a Sentria refurb today from a vacuum shop all works great except the green Brushroll light is not on... I know it's supposed to be on, right?? First Kirby never had one before.. But according to the DVD it's supposed to be on.. Brushroll is spinning like it's supposed to.. Is this ok??

Might Be 1 of 2 Things

Possibly the brushroll is installed backwards (the magnets are on the wrong side) or the indicator needs replacing. See my pic for reference. Notice that the black dot on the right side of the brushroll and the BPI are on the same side.

No black dot...

My Brushroll has no black dot on it like yours.. I'm assuming the black dot is a magnet? Plus look at my bristles... They look flared.. Compared to yours.. Do I need a new Brushroll?? This was a refurb.. I woulda thought a new Brushroll woulda been installed?

Wrong brush roll

Yeah, it looks like you don't have the right brush roll for that model. I'm not sure whether that's one for an earlier Kirby or whether somebody just stuck Kirby ends on a generic brush. If it works okay and you can live without the little light, then I'd leave it be. Otherwise, go ahead and replace it. Just make sure you don't get a brush for a G3 or G4. Those have the magnet on the wrong side for your machine and you can't install it backward because the bristles are angled the wrong way.

Yup, Wrong Brushroll

Someone "cheaped" out on that puppy. That vacuum shop should be ashamed. I'd make them replace that brushroll with the correct model. Either the oblique model (152502G) or the delicate model (159398). Good luck!
