Could anyone please help me out on what that chrome strip is that is mounted to the Rug Renovator tray with four screws? What was its purpose? (NOTE: This info is only applicable to those Reno tray assemblies for the Dual Sanitronic 50 through the Heritage I.)

If anyone has any service manuals for any Kirby models Heritage I and back that contains such specific info and parts breakdowns regarding these tray assemblies, I would appreciate any such info you may have.

It was there to help collect the suds off the spinning brush roll. Now days the top edge is set closer to the brush and the metal strip is no longer needed to. The tips of the brushes ran against the metal strip and deposed the spents suds into the tray rather than pull the suds down and over the carpet again.

Alex,

With the updated Reno tray for the Heritage II, that also coincided with the associated nozzle casting losing the one lug that would jibe with the speed switch arm for the Classic Omega, Classic III and Tradition.

This H2 Reno Group parts diagram shows the same nozzle casting was used for the Miracle Head and Rug Renovator, even though Kirby already did that with the Heritage I Reno Group.
