Apparently, British Kirby enthusiast James Brown (kirbymodel2c) was said to have spotted a late 1990/1991 Kirby Legend II which not only had the reusable (shake out) bag system (a rarity for any Kirby Heritage/Legend series, especially in his country!), but he said the same example also had a maroon (not black) Sani Emtor!

Thus I ask: has any one of my fellow American Kirby fanatics ever come across a late 1990/1991 Legend II, with the reusable bag system, which had not a black Sani Emtor, but a maroon one that jibes with the rest of the trim? That is, do any of your Kirby service books circa 1992 list this Sani Emtor with part no. 179988S (185988S for tray group only)?

Isn't heritage not mini emptor regular circular emptor painted Grey. I'm thinking some one painted maroon. I can't imagine kirby producing it. The Grey paint you use maroon it would look original. I know might have maroon emptor bottom. I'd say fake.

Les,

That was one of my initial thoughts. It should also be known that Mr. Brown (and James Sandilands as well) actually last saw that one a decade ago.

On the Heritage II & Legend, the old-style Sani Emtor was in a hammertoned black finish (the Heritage I/84 Emtor had a powder-coated dark gray finish)... so there might be a hammertoned maroon Sani Emtor out there.

The chance of finding a hammertoned maroon one, if it ever did exist, is quite slim considering that by 1991, practically nobody was buying Kirbys with the shake out bag anymore.
