There was quite a bit of discussion on another thread a few days ago about the Heritage Small Head nozzle. I had a brand new (NOS) Small Head nozzle that someone gave me AND a Heritage II that was given to me by another person. So I just combined the two this is the result. I needed to do a little updating on the handle label which is from a Heritage II Legend. But the old Heritage II label is no longer available. I also took the belt lifter off the original slim-line nozzle. The belt lifter that came with the Small Nozzle was for a Heritage (orange) model.

I really like this vacuum! The Small Nozzle overcomes the problems I was having with the slim-line nozzles. The nozzle glides nicely across the carpet because the rim of the rug plate is wider. The slim-line nozzle digs into my Berber style carpeting, making the vacuum hard to push. This vacuum is well balanced too.

I'd say leave the HeritageII Turbo decal in place, there are no replacements, so best to save what you have... :)

Maybe stick a Legend logo over the top, but not replace, so you can go back to it if you got a HII... :)

This vacuum was already in pretty good shape, but I still went completely through it. It was fully disassembled and cleaned. The castings were polished and it received new motor brushes, new bearings, a new fan, new gaskets, a new handle label, and a new brush roll. For some reason, the headlight isn't working, so I've got to work on that. AND I still need to wipe my grubby paw prints off of it! LOL!

The bumper on the nozzle also came off the slim-line nozzle. I had to trim it a big in order to fit the Small Head. I was also visiting with A007Kirbyman tonight and learned quite a bit about the Heritage series. The Heritage II actually had three different nozzles in production. The first was the larger Classic style nozzle. Then later in production Kirby switched to the slim-line nozzle without the BPI light. Finally, Kirby introduced the slim-line nozzle WITH the BPI light. That was all on the Heritage II. Also, with each standard nozzle, the Small Head Nozzle was an available option. The Heritage II was also originally introduced with the Sani Em-tor. Later in its production, Kirby introduced the Mini-Emtor. I also learned that there were two different Mini-Emtors! So there a lot of changes in the Heritage II's production run.
