Hi,
I got a Kirby G4 from my ant on Sunday and I was cleaning it up and I had a few questions. This is my first g-series so if I sound a little dumb about this please forgive me.
1. What do you use to shine it up(I was using Brasso but this really needs a good shining after almost 14 of not being)?
2. How do you wash the bag(I don't have the user manual to tell me how to disconnect it)?
Thanks so much!!!
Clayton

I do not know how to polish it( I have not polished my G6 2000 edition yet) But the bag is easy to remove.
1. at bottom of bag is a plastic band set in groove in rubber part above pre-emptor. you need to loosen it to remove the bag

2. open up bag ad remove paper bag and unclip fill tube from strap at top of bag

3. after that pull bag off of pre-emptor and unclip bag from handle

4. remove black sleeve from top of bag(the thing that says Kirby Micron Magic

5. make sure to clean out all dust and dirt from inside(vacuum out with another cleaner

6. I like to turn bag inside out and you wash on gentle cycle in cold water.( I like to go to laundromat to do this so I dont get my good Automatic Washer at home Dirty)

7. Line Dry ABSOLUTLEY DO NOT PU IN DRYER YOU WILL SHRINK BAG AND MELT RUBBER AT BOTTOM OF BAG.

I hope this step by step will help you with cleaning your bag

your bag

if your bag isnt very badly soiled, i wouldnt take it off and wash it because those zip tie like clamp (what clamps the bag to the mini emtor) sometimes will break when you take them off! just vacuum out the inside of the bag out. thats what i have done to all of my g-series kirbys, and they came out great!

Thanks for the instructions. I tried pullin the plastic band and I was afraid I was gonna break it. I was wondering if i did break it how expensive it would cost to replace. I know it needs a good washing after almost 14 years of regualr use in a smoking and pet household.
Thanks
P.S. Its workin great and its goin on a field trip 2 Grams 2marrow!!!
:P

Christine,
Thanks so much for that tip! I'm so glad i washed it because the water was very brown when i was done. GROSS!
It turned out really nice. It's just air-drying on the clothes line as i type. :P
