Kirby G4 on "Storage Wars"

My friend Ron Kahan, owner of Boulevard Vacuums here in L.A., was recently on "Storage Wars." Mary Padian (the same auction unit buyer who found the theremin) found an "old Kirby" in a storage unit. The show sent her to see Ron to get it appraised. He looked really good on TV -- I told him he had missed his calling!!

Did A&E tell Ron to add $200 to the actual value? Maybe $500 for a gently used Sentria II, but a g4?

Not to try to blame Ron for the everything's worth millions attitude of Hollywood but just wait till you see the cost of battered old g series kirbys double on craigslist.

Sorry to sound harsh, but with all thease antiques type shows of late, previously 50 cent items now cost $5. I almost can't buy antiques anymore.

When I was on the show I had complete freedom to set my estimate of the value of the theremin Mary Padian had found. I assume the same held for Ron with the Kirby.

Kirby vacuums-much like Singer sewing machines really aren't worth what that machine was priced at!The vac shop here won't give much value to a buyer if he had a G4 as a trade unless it was in like new condition.

I watched it was on kast week. After that storage she also won one with a sentria in it she said it was a vintage model. I just laughed...
