Kirby duel sanitronic 50

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a Kirby expert that would be able to tell me what the list price of my machine was back in 67. Also are the handi butlers and rug renovators common to come across or will this take some digging? So far I have the d50 which has 3 green wheels and a green cord(those will be replaced with tan counterparts shortly), most of the attachments(in fact I have the original tall box everything would have been presented in and that where the accessories,suds gun,floor polisher,felt floor duster,and handiwaxer where) I'm going to need to replace the fan so would another metal fan be best or should I go with amodel? Thanks for helping with the billion questions looking forward to see what you all say!

The original list price of the D50 was About $250 - $300 in 1965 when they first came out. That equates to $1900 - $2300 in todays dollars.


 


Rug Renovators and Handi-butlers turn up on ebay from time to time. You just need to keep an eye out on ebay for those items. You need a Mark IV Handi-butler for a D50.


 


Metal fans are extremely hard to find these days. I would just replace the fan with an Amodel one. Amodel fans are tougher than metal ones and are much less likely to break if you suck up large hard objects such as coins etc.


 


You can check the Kirby Needs store for older parts such as wheels, cords etc.

Metal fan

I found this metal fan for sale. Better get it now if you want it. They rarely come up, and don't last long.

Hate to burst the bubble but the fan you linked to is not a Kirby fan. The blades are angled in the wrong direction. The seller has it miss marked. That would be for a Eureka upright.

A Kirby metal fan for models 516 to Tradition is part no. 119056S, and most examples would have the pulley (driveshaft) and impeller as one, not separated.

Would fan 119078 be the amodel fan that I need for a d50? And how hard is it to change the handle spring? Mine wasn't installed right and when I tried to fix it I broke the screw the spring holds on to.... Needless to say I'll be replacing that
