I intended this pic for the Kirby G Series thread that is currently posted, but that thread is now discussing Kevlar fans etc. and I don't want to disrupt that discussion.

Anyhow, this pic is of the vacuum path / lines of my Diamond and Heritage II (bought NIB last month). It might not be as clear via photo as in person, but the Diamond most definitely lifts and seems to deep clean the carpet more than the Heritage II. The Heritage II has lines while the Diamond creates more of a path without lines, but if you could see the carpet in person, it is very nicely lifted and groomed by the Diamond.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Heritage II and it is one of the most fun vacuums to use that I have ever owned. But when it comes to deep cleaning of MY carpet, the Diamond G series is by far better. I realize that every carpet and every vacuum is different. This is just my story.

Hi you can still post to the G series discussion. Looking at your photo here. You may want to adjust the brush roll its self on the Heritage. The new brush rolls for the New models have pre set brush legths and usually are extended down a little farther past the rug guard than the ideal length for proper grooming to compensate for wear. The density of the carpet will also effect grooming as well as the different grades of rollers available from soft to firm for the G series.
I usually adjust my brush roll about half the distance of the thickness of a pack of new checks past the bottom of the rug guard on my Heritage II and similar models. I believe it is about 1/32 of an inch measurement. The check book trick is easy to get both ends adjusted the same. Each turn of the screw on the Heritage brush roll will lower the brush about 1/64 of an inch and aways make sure the screw heads are visible thru the rug guard. I find that Heritage will groom the carpet much better with it brush roller adjusted as described. please let me know how it works for you?

brush roll adjustment additional info

Lay the pack of check at the far end of the nozzle so the last row of brush tufts touch the edge of the pack of checks also make sure the brush roll is free to turn. If the head is on the machine you can do this with out taking the head off. If the head is off release the belt from the belt lifter so you can turn the brush roll. Make the adjustment with the last bush tuft touching the check book with the brush tuft in the "noon" position. Sorry for the add on Im so used to doing it. I remembered a few steps and pointers I take for granted. Hope this helps you.

Hi Chris..

Hi Chris. I've noticed the same thing. The Ultimate G Diamond is more efficient than the Heritage II. Due to brushroll design and other modifications.
Why the Heritage II still deep cleans the carpet well the Diamond just does it more efficient.
I do love the heritage II like I love all my Kirby's:o)

Another difference. Though I confess to not being familiar with the Heritage, the brush roll on the G-Series has stiffer bristles. Mine on the UG are almost like a steal brush, especially if you get it under a finger nail while changing the belt.

Also, though it may just be my ear. The G-Series motor seems to run faster than the older models. This could be a fan difference as well, but it is higher pitched in sound which led me to make the assumption.
