I thought I'd share some pictures of the Kirby Classic Omega that I'm restoring. So far, it's been a restoration of sweat and tears, but should be worth it in the end. I have one picture of the condition of the Kirby while I pulled a fluffball that I pulled out with my bare hands.): But that picture is somewhere where I don't know. The Kirby was made in 1974, and has ( what I think is the original) metal fan. But I can't currently can't clean it and the motor because of stuck screws and the emtor ( which I have not gotten the DW40 to get it off yet). So, without further ado, the Kirby!

Just in time for its 30th birthday! Best wishes on your project. I am looking forward to seeing its completion.

This being a 1974 build, the speed switch seen here is obviously the earlier type since I notice it is rounded at the lower right corner and also isn't as detailed where the Kirby logo is.

In early 1975, they changed the design so that particular corner was squared off like the rest of the switch, and more detail was added

Thank you all for your kind words of enouragement! I was wondering if anyone here knew where I could get a new safety switch of the older style? The one on my kirby is cracked on
the back, and the hole unit is out of commison until I can find a new one. Any help would be much obliged!
