Kirby Classic III parts and advice

Thank you guys for your help, now I have hope!

I loaded the kirby in my car early this afternoon even tho I wasn't sure whether to take it to goodwill, the repairman that didn't repair it, or my dads hoping he could help me. Thanks to you I'll be taking it to my dads along with the manual I printed out, your instructions on how to fix it and your suggestions on where to buy the parts.

I don't see how to add to or edit my original post or a way to comment or reply to other peoples posts.

I want to say it still has its metal fan, but is still any good meaning no nicks or cracks?
