KIRBY Classic 3 HELP

Sooooo... Picked up this Kirby Classic 3 with everything for 32 bucks. So the switch that prevents you from turning it on without the hose or power head? Yeah, well the switch works with the hose, but not with the power head. I don't really do much Kirby, so I don't know what I'm doing. How do I fix this issue? Any help is useful.

Hi Be sure you have the Head on the right way it has to depress the safety switch down to work. Hope this works Doug

classic III SAFETY SWITCH

REMOVE THE CARPET NOZZLE TO EXPOSE THE FAN & SAFETY SWITCH, THEN TURN ON THE KIRBY & PRESS THE TWO BUTTONS MANUALLY TO SEE IF THEY BOTH WORK. DON'T GET YOUR FINGERS CLOSE TO THE FAN. USE A SCREWDRIVER TO DEPRESS THEM. CHECK THE FLOOR NOZZLE TO SEE IF ANYTHING IS BROKEN OR OUT OF LINE.
