Davis,I just saw your YT on the D-1000, the lock at the end of the hose is like that on most of the Hoover canisers with that hose. Try giving the hose handle a bit of a wiggle back and forth while trying to lock it, it should click over.When unlocking you may have to push down while sliding over to unlock. Just a thought.
