Intuitions
I have both models of the Intuition, the "Bahama Green", and the Silver "True HEPA", model. Both machines are bagged (I use the HEPA cloth bags). I have had the silver one for about a year, and just bought the green one. I wanted to try the green model because of it's "inducer motor". It seems a little louder to me than the previous silver version. As far as suction, the green model has "20%" more than the silver. I have not been able to really tell the difference. I think Panasonic still makes them, please someone correct me if I am wrong.
They all have (2) Motors, one for suction, and the other is for the Direct Drive motor located inside the brush roll. I believe the motor is located on the left side of the brush roll. They are excellent deep cleaners due to the Direct Drive feature and no belts to slow/break. If you do get something stuck in the brush roll, there is a reset button located on the machine. You can also shut the brush roll off for hard-floors. I have hardwood and the rubber coated wheels have not scratched anything!
They are a little on the heavier side as far as weight, but I have not had them tip over while using the attachments. The attachments could be softer, but they are far better than what is on your usual uprights. The hose is very long and does not pull towards the machine too badly. As far as filtration, I have had no dust in the compartments since I have been using both models with the HEPA bags. They also have a Power-Flow feature which consist of many vents in the bag chamber that provide more airflow and better no loss of suction around the bag itself, which I think really works! They are great machines!
The only thing I do miss from the purple direct drive models are the four row brush rolls. The current models only have two rows which are still very effective, but the four rows almost propelled the cleaner through shag carpet! Don't let that deter you though!
