My Miele plus has a pretty darn quiet power nozzle too. As does the Vorwerk upright.
Swiveltop... I forgot that some of them had the power switch on the handle instead of AS the handle! I too can spot a vacuum handle from a mile away. When I used to have time to go to yard sales, I would drive until I spotted one. No clothes and dusty precious moments figures for me thanks!
