kenmore progressive swivel connector

I bought a new swivel connector for my kenmore progressive I watched a utube video on how to replace it. I removed the old one and put on the new one. I wired the connections but I cannot get the two pieces to fit tightly together. Is there a tool to do this?
the guy on the video struggled to get it on and he put the camera down to work on it so I didn't see how he did it.
He did say it was very difficult to do. can anyone here help?

...that you'd have heard from a slew of people on fixing that coupler. I'm in the same boat,and I bet there is a special tool used in putting it back together.I'll do as Greg suggests and check the videos, and if I get anything I'll pass it on to you.I'm not taking mine apart until I know more that's for sure.

Don't know if you fixed your swivel connector but a nice gentleman sent me an email after reading your thread. He sent some directions based on his own experience with putting the cuff on the hose. So I'm passing it on to you, and maybe it will help others down the road. "No special tool is required to seat the hose end into the cuff on a Kenmore hose.Inside the sides of the cuff are a pair of tabs that have to fit over and latch onto another matching pair of tabs on the hose end. To accomplish this you have to squeeze the bejeezuz out of the cuff top and bottom to get the sides to bulge out enough to allow the tabs in the cuff to slide over the tabs in the hose end. A bench vice makes this easy to do but you can use a large pair of channel locks pliers to squeeze the cuff with. Wrap the cuff in a towel so you don't scratch it. Some soap on all of these tabs helps. With the cuff squeezed in a vice you can push the end into the cuff. If you use big pliers to squeeze the cuff, push the end against something solid like a door jam and work the cuff over the tabs until it's seated" He hopes this helps and so do I. yes, he helped me too. I bought large Channellock pliers but I used them differently. I squeezed the cuff till the sides opened up but I could not push the swivel in no matter how hard I tried, (I don't have the strength of a man) so I hooked the plier jaw to the bottom edge of the cuff and the other jaw to the top of the swivel where it bends.. I squeezed the pliers and it clicked into place on one side so I repeated the process on the other side and it clicked into place. It was so easy! I taped a small rubber pad to the swivel to prevent scratches on the swivel from the Channellock pliers. The pliers have a V groove (don't know if that makes a difference) I never used this type of pliers before. I posted photos below to show how in the event you didn't get my description.

just wanted to add, I only had liquid soap in my workshop, so I used Goo Gone. I swabbed the inside of the cuff grooves with it and also the two side things on the swivel. Withe the Channellock pliers it slid right up and clicked into place. So happy!!

So sorry, the photo is wrong. the pliers should beon the cuff edge and the swivel bend. I would take another one for you but i'm not at home. Its the same principal just position plier jaws on the cuff. I took the picture after it was installed and it was difficult to hold the pliers and the camera and the hose at the same time
