I have a Kenmore Ken Cart model 116.732. I'm wanting to find out if I can retrofit an old Electrolux model XXX motor to fit, as the fans look like an Electrolux model XXX's fans. The top fan has a nut that I'm unable to remove, I've tried heating it up with a heating gun and using an air ratchet to no avail. The body is in good shape and I don't really want to throw it away. I grew up with Ken Karts & alot of people I knew including my Godmother had the Electrolux 30. When I grew up I was trained to repair all vacuums. The Electrolux motor cannot be retrofitted to the 732 Ken Kart nor any other non lux cleaners. What is wrong with the Birtman part # 75-393 motor & fan assembly? Most common trouble with this unit is the commutator end ball bearing 0n samples produced 1951-52. The bearing is still made. #87008. I am mystified as to why you cannot sweat of the fan nut, there are 2 of them. I am an expert on all Birtman built Kenmores which were discontinued for good in 1958.
