Found a 1979 Kirby tradition at goodwill on sale for $1! It's in great shape I'm in the process of polishing it now. (finished photos to come) I washed the shakeout bag and hand stitched a zipper so when my parts get here I can convert it to full hepa filtration! It still sounds great but I bought a couple sets of motor brushes which will be here in the next day or two and I'll have it back to life!

Nice

With HEPA bags these just inhale air. It has loads of power. Just polish the nozzle while you wait for the parts.
Congrats

You got that for a BUCK!?!?

Okay, that definitely qualifies as the steal of the year. And nice job converting the bag. I'm doing something similar with a recently acquired Heritage 1HD except I don't have your sewing skills. My solution will entail a bag swap and the use of a Heritage II emptor and fill tube setup. That machine will be absolutely gorgeous when you get it all shined up.

Thanks!

I'm really excited about it. The sewing part I had no idea on but trusty YouTube came to the rescue! I thought about going with a heritage bag but figured I'd try installing a zipper first.
