Roll the dice . . .

on this particular machine. You might not have much bidding competition on this machine, but a $55+ shipping cost seems unreasonably high to me. If you win a low bid and then add shipping, you're up to at least $75. So, if you're willing to spend that much on this machine, clean it up, and replace the brush roll and belt, then it may be worth it to you to take a shot at it in order to avoid a TTI-made vac. I have basically this same pre-TTI vacuum, only in red. I got it brand new for $139 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I really didn't need it, but I got it anyhow to use as a lighter runabout when I didn't want to use the Kirby. It has very good suction, even through the hose. The red and green lights are nice, I really don't need them. Here are a couple of things I don't like: the hose is very short, and due to the suction pulling back on the hose when you want to use it, the machine will fall over. Also, when the vac is in the upright position when using the tools, there is no brush shutoff. I have moved on to other replacements and put this vac in storage.

It's under $50

to ship it to Illinois. The total cost of buying and shipping would be around $60-$65.

Absolutely not

Even with a brand-new brushroll you have a better shot of finding one local cheaper. In my opinion the supreme having been out for over 10 years now no matter the condition the resale value has depreciated substantially. I hate the sound of these, and the hose configuration/shortness, but the suction is tremendous and when the brushroll is new-near new it does a very very good job. unlike other hoovers as these brushes wear out they loose their "forcefulness" on the carpet.

I've looked locally

the closest is over two hours away. I'd be paying the same amount in gas to go and get it as I would pay to ship this one.
