is it worth it?

<p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">Recently I have come across a Hoover Elite 5.0 in eBay. I have wanted a Hoover Elite since my original one's engine blew up as I was cleaning with it 

. This one on eBay seems way overpriced. I don't even have enough money to buy it as I just bought an Oreck. The pictures of it don't show the vacuum's "good-side." It looks as though it's going to need some work. The price with shipping would be almost close to a hundred dollars and I don't want to spend that much on an Elite. A fair price in my opinion is maybe fifteen dollaes since shipping is a little over twenty. What do I do? As I am a more inexperienced buyer, I don't know any strategies to work the seller down to a more reasonable price. My original plan was to send him/her a message through eBay, saying that the vacuum wasn't in that good of shape and I would need to put some work into it (The vacuum does need some work, maybe just a good spa day)  I don't know if it's even work the money to buy it. It seems as though it's an earlier Elite, maybe from the eighties, and it would be an excellent edition to my collection but I'm really on the edge about it. Any info about it would be awesome 

 Also I'm including pictures of the Hoover for sale, and the link to the eBay ad. If anyone can give me ideas on how to get this cheaper, it'll be appreciated. </p>

Of course! Contact the seller and negotiate. Especially if the vac has lingered on eBay for a while, the seller might be happy to just clear it out. What is the worst that can happen, the seller sticks to his or her price? No worries, another will be along shortly.

Btw, thanks for sending me to eBay to look at Hoovers. Someone posted an absolutely gorgeous Kenmore Whispertone vac with the Powermate, Power Pet Mate and all the tools in the Hoover section, and the opening bid is ridiculously low. Serendipity? I'll let you know if I win.
