The switch!

I would say that it's unlikely the motor is bad. I've never seen one with a bad motor. More likely, it is the switch, a VERY common failure point on these. One of mine has this problem, and now it won't turn on. It's at the shop right now, just waiting for a donor switch. Once fixed, it will be one of your best cleaning vacuums! -Mitchell
