I have been re arranging the vacuums in my bedroom, which is where I keep nearly all of them, there is probably about 20 in there, including the ones in the wardrobes and then there are a couple on the landing, one in the hall downstairs, a few in the shed, a couple in the garage and a few in the loft!

So in all I probably have about 34 and considering that about 20 of them are in my bedroom, which is the small box room, I don't think I have done half bad. I have one of those high sleepers so I can get them under the bed and with a lot of them stood on their bumpers, I can fit a lot more in. I do need to stop collecting for a little while, I only have room for one or two more! I could do with a bit of a clear out, but NONE of the HOOVERS will be leaving me, not yet anyway. :P

Here are some of them in my room after a bit of re arranging, also, please feel free to post pictures of what your collection looks like in there "storage" places.

ended up using my parents loft for all the uprights but it was a real chore having to climb ladders. I never put my Hoover uprights in the upright position like that with the bumper hitting the floor though - doesn't it do damage to the hinges?

Yes AlexHoovers94, that's the problem I have as well, and I live alone in a Victorian 2 bed terrace. My total count is now at 46 vacs plus 2 handhelds. My back bedroom has 26 vacs in (plus the double bed), my own bedroom only has 2 as I don't really want to be sleeping with them all lol. I have 3 in the living room and 14 in the loft. Its very easy to get carried away and I now have to say no to any more unless I REALLY want them or they are something special. Gone are the days when I drive across the midlands and the north west to get them though. If they are not within 15 miles of Stoke then they don't get bought. I've missed out on some good models though as sellers cant be bothered to post them and all the best ones seem to be located 100's of miles away in Kent or Scotland. The pics are from a month or so back and the positions of my vacs change as I move them about. I try to put the ones in the loft now that I don't use any more or that need parts such as the 2 juniors which have knackered motor bearings and the E502 which also has a knackered motor bearing. I now have all the Dysons in the loft as they don't get used. I like the old Dysons but I have had enough of Dyson's greed and poor quality crap that he sells to people now.

I take it your guardian has put his/her foot down and said that you cant take over any more of the house with your hoovers?

Sounds like you need to move somewhere bigger - ie a small warehouse lol

What does your guardian think of all your hoovers? (at least your landing carpet is always clean lol)

Well at least with the SEBO you can take it apart and put it in a sports bag. If there are other uprights that can do that, at least you're making better space. Any chance of putting any uprights under an open bed/bedstead frame if you have one? I used to do that with my cylinder vacuums, at push able to get 8 of them under there or 2 with 2 uprights.

Both my beds are double divans that have no storage space underneath. I have loads of room for more vacs if I wanted to keep them in the living room, but I don't want them to take over the house, and then I'm likely to appear on Hoarders, where every inch of spare space is filled with vacs including the staircase (Like John Longs house ;-) lol)

Ryan, I shouldn't think it would damage them by standing them on end, I have all the Turbo 2's stood on end for a couple of reasons - 1, They are so fat and take up to much room and 2, they are practically built out of rock! They aren't gonna break :p
I would like to have them stood upright, but I just don't have the space.

Steve, yes, my mother demands no more as they are "in her way" and plus, I know I need to slow downn for stotage sake, but do I want to? HELL NO! There are LOADS of vacs that still NEED to be in my possesion!!!!

Awesome Alex and Steve! Steve- I like your Dysons btw, and that vax cylinder bagless box in the top right hand corner is the ones my relatives had, it never lasted
IMO I think that the cylinders are not so easy to store because of the hose & wand

IMO I think that the cylinders are not so easy to store

I've found it depends what cylinder it is. Numatic cleaners are a royal pain in the a$$ to store, but all my Lux's, Philip's and my Miele fit under my bed, with enough room to store the hoses and wands ontop of the cleaners.

The newer Vax bagless cylinders like my Power 6 Pet is a pain to store as it wont stand on its end, and seems to take up loads of space, which is why its back in its box now, as Parwaz786 says, they are not very reliable and I don't want it burning out on me. The Miele canisters are great for storage, taking up no bigger a footprint than the uprights.

Henry is a right royal pain in the arse too as turbo500 says, so he lives in a little corner of the living room under the stairs.

In general though, unless I keep the cylinder cleaners in their boxes dismantled, they are more awkward to store, due to the hoses and wands, not to mention all the different floorheads and accessories.

Alexhoovers94, you will have to butter your mother up a bit to make her more accepting of your vacs - promise to do the washing up or mow the lawn or even that you will finish doing the painting and decorating on the stairs and landing?

promise to do the washing up

Alex wouldn't wash up if you paid him! His mother tried to get him to do it once before. It didn't work.

Good choices of cylinders there, Alex. With you all the way on the 345, though I would personally prefer a 330.
