I think some of you remember the thread where I said that I was going to get a CMS 1000 and I did! I LOVE it I think it is the best bagless in the world but I have a question I noticed that on my cms 1000 video the upper cyclone cone on the machine in the video had a rim but my vac does not and my vac has a C on the botom plate not an A ( I realy wanted an A model)so does this have anything to do with it? And no my vacuum is not a clear track nor does it have a clear track bin

CMS-1000 vs. ClearTrak

At first glance, one might think the two models are identical except for the height adjuster lever on the ClearTrak, but they aren't. I bought a CMS-1000 off eBay a few months ago, and the seller failed to mention that the collection bin had a crack that created an annoying whistle when it was in use. I thought through ClearTrak.com I could just order a new collection bin. Not so. I had to order a new cyclone assembly and a whole new upper tower assembly. Not really sure what the "A" and "C" on the bottom plate mean, but I'm sure ClearTrak will. You can send them your old CMS-1000, and they will refurbish it into a new ClearTrak.

Well, that's fine if you can get one in good shape. Many of these CMS-1000's are already around 20 years old though, and some were used commercially. I've seen some of these CMS-1000's not only used but ABUSED. At least this way, a CMS can live on rather than being put out at the curb if parts are NLA as is the case with the Canadian Fantoms. I agree with you though that the Amway is one of the best bagless machines. Definitely more heavy-duty than alot of the others on the market today....
