They're not too uncommon in the Western NY area I still see them fairly often, they imported through here and there seems to be a disproportionately high number of them compared to elsewhere. I just bought another Fury a couple of weeks ago and a Thunder just last week. I have pretty much a whole shed full of Thunder/Desinty/Domestics and maybe 10 Furys. They're not terribly hard to work on I used to buy or garbage pick them them, unclog then and sell them to coworkers. Now I just buy good ones I see. The one I got last week was a Thunder with an up damaged filter housing though it cost $20.
If you have a working Fury I'd suggest pulling it apart and cleaning the vanes of the motor with a pipe cleaner if you haven't and do it at least every year or so if you use it regularly. It will greatly increase the life of the motor. It's cyclones are not as efficient as the Thunder.
