The trouble with living in the attic for decades is that the rubber motor mounting, rubber seals, etc. all dry out and become stiff.  Let's hope that is not the case.


The Comet was designed in the early 1960's to compete with Interstate Engineering's "Compact" (now Tri-Star) cleaner - which was sold door to door.  The Comet had a cord rewinder and was made entirely out of aluminum (heavy). The rug tool was virtually worthless.  The wands were upside down plastic Kirby wands. It had an attachment caddie that looked like a magazine rack.  It is so rare because so few were sold.
