I?? about Eureka canister

I have a mid 70s Eureka canister that the main motor is about twice as loud as it usually is when running?

Are these motors easy to rebuild?

I think there may have been some water sucked up some time ago in this vac.

VERY EASY!

Just your basic Lamb motor! One thing, be careful and mark around the bolts holding the rear housing on with a majic marker, " The part that holds the brushes and rear bearing", If you dont put the housing exactly in the same position it was in the motor wont run the correct speed.

Here's my advice !

Brad
Buy a new Lamb motor and put it in the vacuum if you really like it, want to use it and it looks decent for display. It's well worth your time. Also a good used one is not a lose. If it is working fine before you ( the used motor)change it out. It will be very easy to change and will be working great if you get all the seals tight !
So you have good suction at the end of the hose ! That is the goal, right ?

Is right, if you are not familiar with re packing bearings ETC you probably would do better with a new motor,Re building one is not too difficult, but you need some tools, a bearing puller ETC.
