How to tell the age of a Electrolux Model G??

I'm trying to identify the manufacture date of my Model G from the serial number. Could someone please tell me how to do this?

I've already established that it's one of the earlier versions of G because of other factors, but I'd like to know more from the serial number.

Well, you could try radio carbon dating but you'd have to carefully clean the object first to remove any contaminants that might give an erroneous reading and be sure to slice off a sample from an inconspicuous spot

You cannot tell the age of an Electrolux from the serial number. I'm sure the factory can, but they haven't (to my knowledge) released this information even to their service branches. We know it was around the end of 1962 that they moved the power nozzle outlet to the side of the machine.

I do know

The VERY first Gs had one long power nozzle cord that clipped on the hose with white plastic snap on clips, the next very brief variation was that they made the pn detachable but still used the snap on clips, then sometime in 62 they put the circuit breaker on the pn, added the clean out port and started using a Electrolux built cord instead of the belden with the bumper.The first pns had ELECTROLUX spelled out in block letters across the front.

I guess I'll never know (sigh). I just know that it's an earlier issue because of the sqare Belden plug and the front power nozzle port. The machine itself is practically unblemished and the paint is near perfect. The lady I'm bought it from attributed this to the arid desert climate that she used to live in.
