About a month ago I bought a complete bag + emtor assembly from someone on facebook, since the assembly for the SVII fits onto a D50 (which I've correctly identified my Kirby as, which I haven't mentioned here). The emtor attaches crooked and has recently gained a tendency to come undone and fall off due to the unconventional angle, facebook said that the lock has /become/ crooked with time and there is a way to move it back, but hasn't told me how to do it properly other than a bunch of hypotheticals.

Advice is appreciated, I don't have the time, money, nor sanity to buy a new emtor so that is out of the question. Images below.

Whoever told you that on Facebook is wrong. You probably aren't pushing it fully into place. Some of those older emptors require some muscle to lock in.

repairman

I've tried a good amount of times and that's as far as I can get it to go. It might be partially my fault as in I'm too afraid of causing damage?

crooked emptor trouble

get you some kind lube oil & put a little on the slots of the emptor neck.it will work so much easier you will be amazed.also check the rubber gasket in the neck & make sure it's not broken or crooked.
