I recently bought a strange vacuum and I'm in the process of cleaning/polishing.
It has a fabric hose...can this be cleaned ? If so, how can I do it without
damaging it ?
I'll post pics of the finished product when I'm done.....let's see who can identify it.

They have metal cording in them and brittle rubber so I would presume soaking is not going to work. Maybe a soft toothbrush and a non detergent soap and hot water. It would take a long time though.

You might be able to get away with submerging it and washing it quickly but you'd need to have a blower fan to shoot air through it and over it immediately after washing, so it doesn't rust the metal spring and deteriorate the rubber.

Good idea would be to buy a bunch of junk hoses or ask someone to give some to you and just try out different methods and see what makes the best result.

I know members here in the past posted on how to re-coat the inside with new rubber, so maybe best to only wash it before restoration and let the rubber get ruined and then re-coat new rubber to make a fully restored hose.
