A couple of weeks ago my old Hoover fan heater (seen and described in the thread linked below) fell whilst in use and from then on stopped working. I knew it would just be a blown fuse but only got around to replacing it today.
WELL, what a strange thing I came across when I opened the plug to change the fuse...
A 3AMP fuse! Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure a 3AMP is only sufficient for 750W, and this heater is rated at 2000W!! Surely it could not have been physically possible for it to run AT ALL on that fuse?
But - run it did - for months...
Weird, very weird. In any event I've changed it for a new 13AMP and it is purring away again giving off a nice warm heat.
