OK, so it's not much of a "high ender" machine, but I saw this very beat up and stinky Hoover in the thrift store for $15 at the same time I was grabbing a Kirby Sentria II (has bad switch). Does anybody have any info about it? Can you tell by the serial number when it was made?

After a spa day, the smell was gone and the hose more or less came back to a white-ish color. Took the unit completely apart right down to the bearings and after I put it back together I did some measurements.

I was able to get a 3.75 on the Baird meter (75 CFM) and 48" of lift at the hose end. I have ordered "K" bags, but was disappointed I couldn't find any "high end" cloth HEPA bags or at least upgraded paper ones, just standard Hoover bags.

Unfortunately, no power nozzle but I have one for a TurboPower 5000 that with a pigtail extender, just might make everything work.
