I know on the windtunnel, the 3rd wire controls the headlight, but I heard that in the older 3-prong hoover hoses the 3rd prong is just a placement holder/un-necessary ground. I ask because I recently acquired a spectrum and powermax canister and I thought the spectrum's hose would fit the powermax, which it would, if that 3rd prong wasn't there. So if the spectrum doesn't really need that prong, I'll yank it out to use that hose on the powermax too.</p></blockquote><p></p>
